Choose the Right Shampoo
Using the wrong shampoo and styling agent can cause significant hair damage. Look for products that are right for your hair type. If you have oily hair, make sure you are using shampoo which is made for oily hair, if you have dry hair, make sure you are using shampoo which is made for dry hair etc.
Don't Over-Do It
Don't wash your hair too frequently - by too frequently, I mean by more than once a day. Over-washing your hair can strip it from its natural oils.
Washing your hair too much can throw off your scalp's microbiome, which can let bad bacteria and fungi take over and cause things like inflammation
Cold Water
When you do wash your hair however. you are going to want to make sure that you are using cold water. Cold water is much better than using warm or hot water. Using cold water also seals the moisture in the hair, which leaves the scalp hydrated.
Rinsing with hot water results in taking away essential oils and moisture from your hair. This can leave your scalp dehydrated and hair frizzy and static.
